The shooter was found dead
The body was found at 19:45 (local time) in the town of Lisbon Falls near Lewiston, where the attack took place.
The information was confirmed by Maine Public Safety Commissioner Michael Sauschuk. According to Saushuk, Robert had a gunshot wound to his body.
“Tonight I breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Robert Card is no longer a threat to anyone,” Maine Gov. Janet Mills said at a news conference.
According to local press reports, the body of the alleged shooter was found near the waste recycling center where he worked. He was recently fired.
“I will continue to do everything in my power to end this epidemic of gun violence. The Lewiston community and all Americans deserve nothing less,” said President Joe Biden.
The victims were identified on Friday at 27, including a 14-year-old boy who died with his father and an elderly couple.
