A 53-year-old man was shot dead this Friday morning (27) in the Monte Alegre area of Camboriu. According to the PMC (Military Police of Santa Catarina), the victim already had police tickets, one of which was for smuggling. The motive for the crime could have been disagreement.
The incident was recorded late in the morning, around 11:50, on Rua Monte Corcovado, opposite where the man lived. Upon arrival at the scene, military police found the victim dead from gunshot wounds.
The man had several convictions, including for bodily harm, defamation, leaving a person incapacitated, illegal possession of ammunition and cigarette smuggling.
Deceased smuggler had disagreements with suspect
According to the PMSC, the suspect in the crime is a 39-year-old man who also has convictions for threats, using a forged document and tampering with a vehicle. He and the smuggler would already be at odds.
The Civil Police, the IGP (Institute of General Examination) and the Forensic Medical Institute were called in to conduct an investigation and examination, and the body was subsequently removed from the scene.
