This Friday (20), the military fire service of Santa Catarina is counting on the help of the sonar of the Itaipu hydroelectric station to locate the ferry that sank last Wednesday (18) between Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. search.

The device is very powerful, capable of identifying possible fish-sized cracks in plant walls. The ferry has already been found, and rescuers are now using sonar to search for the tugboat and the truck that was being transported at the time of the accident.
Firefighters from Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, and the Brazilian Navy participated in the incident. In a statement, the Brazilian Navy said that the Santa Catarina Port Authority will begin an investigation into the navigational facts and incidents to verify the causes, circumstances and responsibilities, with a deadline for completing the administrative procedure of 90 days.

Searching for a carrier
He was identified as Flavio Tobaldini, 47, a ferryman who operated the ferry and is still missing. At the time of the accident, in addition to Flavio, there were a flight attendant and a truck driver on board the ship, which was passing through the crossing. The helper and the truck driver managed to swim across and escape, but Flavio, who was driving the vessel, disappeared.
Divers are looking for Flavio in the river.
