About seven tons of marijuana were seized this Friday morning (13) in Barra Vella, on the northern coast of Santa Catarina. This is the largest drug seizure in the state in 2023.
The seizure was the result of a joint action by the PF (Federal Police) and the PRF (Federal Traffic Police) on the BR-101 in Barra Velha. The drugs were hidden in a trailer with Campo Grande, Mississippi license plates that was traveling south on the highway. Look:

According to PRF, the man had a previous conviction for embezzlement and was taken to the federal police headquarters in Joinville, where an arrest report was drawn up for drug trafficking. The estimated cost of organized crime is around R$15 million.
