Firefighters said the garrison was checking materials in the barracks courtyard when they were surprised by the vehicle’s arrival.
There was a family in the car with a child, just 12 days old, suffering from airway obstruction caused by a foreign body. The child’s mother said she was breastfeeding her daughter when she choked on breast milk.
They immediately went to the barracks where they were examined by local firefighter Vanessa and local firefighter Antunes. The two successfully performed the tapping, freeing the child.
The child and mother were then taken to the Navegantes emergency room for medical examination.
