A person accused of shooting, wounding and leaving paralyzed a woman who was attending a party on a neighbor’s land in Biguaçu, located in Greater Florianópolis, will go to trial by jury.
The author then tried to appeal the crime because, according to his defense, the victims had trespassed on his son’s property to take photos at the stand.
However, the reporting judge noted that it was not possible to appeal because the victims were surprised by the actions of the defendant, who was balancing on top of the iron structure. According to the TJSC (Santa Catarina Court), the victims had no opportunity to defend themselves.
The defendant will be tried for four counts of attempted murder, qualified for wanton reasons, as well as illegal possession of ammunition and firearms.
Remember the case of the accused
The crime occurred on January 17, 2021. That day, a guest invited the group to take a photo in an iron tribune-like structure in a vacant lot around 3:45 p.m. in Tres Riachos, Biguaçu. .
There were 15 guests at the party, but only four agreed and climbed onto the scaffolding to pose for a photo. As they took position for the photo, shots began to be fired.
Everyone rushed to leave the establishment, but one of the guests was unable to escape in time, was hit and fell between the cracks in the metal. The victim suffered serious injuries that left her paraplegic.
According to the SAT, the accused had a revolver and .38 caliber cartridges. In his testimony, he claims that neighbors constantly organized “raves” and the party lasted two days.
The owner of the house denied promoting raves and said he had lunch with friends on Sundays, which lasted until late.
The TAO emphasizes that the Biguaçu district, where the original case is being heard, is responsible for scheduling the court hearing. “This unit will soon have to put litigation on its agenda,” he concludes.
