The implementation of the fourth lane on the Martin Luther Avenue, located in the Victor Conder area, has progressed over the past two weeks following actions by the Blumenau City Hall. Work continues at the final stage with the aim of laying asphalt.
According to the Urban Planning Secretariat (Seplan), the work schedule is on schedule. “When the work on the highway is completed this week, in addition to the installation of traffic signs, finishing work on the sidewalks and construction sites will be completed to complete the construction of the fourth lane,” emphasizes department secretary Eder Boron.
The implementation of the fourth lane aims to speed up traffic between the central part and the western part of the city, but does not cease to give preference to northbound traffic. This action should also help reduce congestion on streets adjacent to Avenida Martin Luther, such as Rua Timbo, Indaial, Carlos Rischbieter and even Rua Sao Paulo.
After completion of this stage of asphalting the road, finishing work will be carried out on sidewalks and flower beds, as well as road signs in the region.
The work on Avenida Martin Luther covers an area of approximately 180 meters in length. The city council’s investment in paving amounts to R$600,000, with resources coming from the City Planning Council Fund (Coplan).
Rua Jose Reiter
Another municipal project is being implemented in the Vella Central area. This is the paving of Rua José Reiter street. According to the Municipal Works Department (Semob), the construction site has been affecting traffic since last Tuesday (December 9).
The base and base will be laid on site, which are the steps prior to paving. This stage took place throughout this week, and on Tuesday (December 9) and Wednesday (September 9) it left the road in a stop-and-go system.
On Thursday (September 14) and Friday (September 15), the area is completely closed to vehicle traffic, with the exception of city and intermunicipal public transport.
The paving project for the last section of Rua José Reuther is 1.2 kilometers long and will benefit more than 30 families living in the region. The municipality’s investment amounts to R$4.8 million, with resources provided by the Government of Santa Catarina.
Mutirao Program
To put the needs of the population into practice, the Blumenau City Hall proposes the Mutirao program. This is a partnership between the community and the municipality to enable Blumenau residents to lay more paving slabs.
New technical criteria clearly regulate the order of the streets involved, ensuring greater certainty and transparency of executions. Using this link you can view the work that has already been delivered to residents.
