The Brazilian Danilo Cavalcante was arrested this Wednesday (13) after being on the run for 14 days in Pennsylvania, in the USA. The fugitive was sentenced to life in prison in August this year after killing his girlfriend in 2021.

The case caused a stir, mobilized authorities and was featured on a reality show, which was watched by several people interested in the outcome of the search for the culprit.

Because of this, Cavalcante soon became known as “Lazarus USA” after the Brazilian killer who was on the run for more than two weeks after killing four people. There are many similarities between these cases.

1. Killers

The first similarity between the cases is the crime committed by both: murder. More than 30 crimes were investigated. The search for Lazaro began after he killed four family members.

In Cavalcante’s case, he was already in custody for the death of a student in Tocantins, but was convicted in the US after killing, by stabbing more than 30 times, his girlfriend Deborah Brandao in front of her children.

Lazaro’s case ended with the death of the criminal, which took place in a dense forest with tall trees and surrounded by streams, in Aguas Lindas de Goyas. During the 20 days that he was on the run, the killer from Seyland showed that he knew how to survive. in the middle of nature – a skill that Cavalcante also needed.

A fugitive from Pennsylvania was missing for 14 days, during which he survived in the green areas around Chester, Pennsylvania. He was arrested in a wooded area near South Coventry, where he is suspected to have been since last Tuesday (12).

The outcome of the case is a “trophy”

Despite the different results (Lazaro was shot and killed and Cavalcante was arrested), the fact that the completion of both cases was seen as a reward for the authorities involved is a common point.

In Cavalcante’s case, a photo of the police with the criminal was even published, an image that creates a sense of “duty accomplished.” In addition, at a press conference this Wednesday (13), the work of the police and officers involved in this case was recognized.
