A Toyota/Hilux truck, stolen in Rio Grande do Sul and circulating cloned, was discovered by the PRF (Federal Traffic Police) on Sunday afternoon (10) on BR-101 in Tubarau, in the south of the state.
According to police, the vehicle’s license plates did not comply with the Senatran (National Traffic Secretariat) standard. After examining the vehicle, PRF determined that the vehicle had been stolen in July in Bento Gonçalves, but was in circulation in cloned form with license plates and plates identifying another Hilux with the same characteristics.
The 53-year-old driver from Rio Grande do Sul told PRF that he bought the car from an unknown person and did not know it was stolen. He was taken to the Tubarao Police Station and will be charged with the crime of reception.
