The death of a newborn in Isar, in the south of the state, is being investigated by civilian police. The victim was admitted to the San Donato Hospital with blows to the head and body, as well as hypothermia and mud this Saturday (9).
“The family claims that no one knew about the pregnancy, not even the mother,” detailed delegate on duty Marcio Campos Neves. “We listened to father. The woman was hospitalized and a forensic examination was requested,” he adds.
Civilian police and forensics were present at the family’s home. “You could see a surveillance camera filming what was happening. A woman gives birth next to the wall of a house and next to a car. Then he steps on the child,” the deputy adds.
Neves believes the woman was in a postpartum state. “I want to believe and I think it will be confirmed,” he notes. The medical team at the San Donato Hospital tried to resuscitate the girl for several hours, but she could not stand it and died. At the medical unit, parents presented different versions of what happened.
The investigation is currently ongoing at the Isar police station.
