The Monte Cristo area, located in the continental region of Florianopolis, woke up in the midst of a destruction scenario this Wednesday morning (6), following the breach of the Kazan Reservoir (Companhia Catarinense de Águas e Saneamento) in the early morning.
According to NDTV reporter Paulo Müller, the rupture of the structure, which contained 8 million liters of water, caused damage, especially in Luis Carlos Prestes Street, where the structure is installed.
There were two reservoirs on the territory of Kazan. The oldest structure survived, as the one built in 2022 collapsed and caused significant damage to the region. As a result of the incident, 92 houses were under water, 250 people were injured.
