The driver of the application who hit Kaiki Brita has reported that he has been unable to work since the day of the accident that occurred on Saturday (2) in Barra da Tijuca, in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro. Diones Coelho da Silva made an appeal on social networks.
In order to get back on the street, the driver opened an online fundraiser to cover the costs of car repairs after an accident, car financing, and the family’s monthly expenses.
“This crowdfunding is to cover the loss of my car, insurance deductible, car payment, monthly insurance premium, and expenses for my children until the car is ready and I return to work again. God is sovereign over everything,” the driver wrote on the crowdfunding site.
The driver’s original goal was to collect 30,000 reais. Until tomorrow, this Thursday (7), crowdfunding has raised an amount of 37,063.39 reais from the donations of 600 people.
“I can not work [sem o carro]. To my surprise, the application blocked me, although the investigation revealed [até agora] fatality. It was never my intention to harm the boy,” Diones said in an interview with Wall.
If he is unable to return to work, the driver estimates that he will have a monthly loss of 5,000 reais, an amount that will cover his expenses, those of his wife and two children aged 13 and 11.
In addition, as a result of the accident, he suffered a loss of 10,000 reais, and also has to pay an insurance deductible of 4,000 reais and a monthly contribution to finance a vehicle of 1,700 reais.
“The car is the only way to work. I bought a car for work, and if I paid for it, it wouldn’t even have 10,000 kilometers on it. I don’t even know what to do. I have two small children, and this worsens my psychology even more, ”he said.
