Another case of femicide was reported on the Northern Plateau of Santa Catarina. This time, the suspect not only killed his partner, but also changed the scene of the crime to look like a suicide. A knife was found in the victim’s hand, identified as Diane Vogt, suggesting she committed suicide. The case was registered this Monday (4) in Canoinhas.

“The knife that was in the victim’s hand was planted,” said police chief Darcy Nadal Jr. in an interview with JMais. According to the person in charge of the investigation, the version presented by the victim’s boyfriend does not match the crime scene.

According to his version, the suspect claimed that around 22:00 on Sunday (3) he would have slept on the couch, and Diane would have locked herself in the room. The mother of the victim told the military police that her son-in-law called her in the morning and said that her daughter was still locked in her room and that she was not returning his calls and messages.

Diana was found half-naked, with a hole in her chest and a knife in her hand, suggesting she committed suicide. However, according to the Prime Minister, some evidence at the crime scene raised doubts about what happened.

According to the delegate, the victim’s body had cadaveric rigidity, indicating that she had been dead for at least six hours. “The knife that was in the victim’s hand was planted, it was not compatible with the body in a cadaverous state,” Nadal told JMais magazine.

Other evidence found at the scene also suggests that the scene was altered and falsified. On the back of the victim’s neck, just below the back of the head, a severe injury was found, apparently inflicted by a sharp object.

Scissors with traces of blood were found in the bathroom, as well as stains on the floor.

In addition to these elements, according to the delegate, video and audio recordings of the couple’s night were recorded on the camera’s memory card. The object will be examined, however, preliminary information showed that the man could have killed his partner.

Given these facts, he was arrested red-handed for the murder of a woman. Medical examiners must also provide the cause of death and crime scene records, and the memory card must provide more detailed information about the crime. The case continues to be investigated.
