The ports of Imbituba and São Francisco do Sul, operated by SC-Par and managed by the private sector, will receive millions of investments in the coming months.

The Minister of Ports, Airports and Railways, Beto Martins, reports that more than 130 million reais are expected at the Imbituba terminal over the next two years. A tender is currently underway for the construction of a new berth. It is the only port in Santa Catarina included in the PAC of the central government.

Currently, 3 vessels can operate in Imbituba. After completion of work in 2025, four ships will operate simultaneously.

In San Francisco do Sul, the resources are private. TESC – Port Terminal of Santa Catarina – is estimating an investment of 500 million reais to build three new silos, essentially a new Brazilian port. The group is led by businessman Alberto Raposo Oliveira (Beto Carociu), one of the leading influences in the sector.

Secretary of State Beto Martins has made no secret of big concerns about the logistics to move resources and products from Santa Catarina’s industrial and agribusiness industries.

He considers it necessary to hold the Southern Symposium on the Integration of Logistics, which will be held on September 12, at the opening of Mercoagro, in Chapeco, in the presence of specialists.

The biggest challenge for the state’s economy today is to ease access to the main ports of the Santa Catarina coast.

For this reason, the working group is conducting studies on the railway line between Chapeco and Correia Pinto, and between Navegantes and Capivari.
