This Sunday morning, a woman (3) was injured in a homeless shelter in Passarela da Cidadanha. The most surprising thing about this story is that, according to the 72-year-old aggressor, the crime was motivated by the fact that another woman, 62, could not stop talking.
According to the Florianopolis Social Assistance, both attended a separate ward for the elderly inside the shelter. Authorities say they regret what happened and supported the victim.
The CBMSC (Santa Catarina Military Fire Department) was on the scene to provide assistance. The injured man was taken to the Celso Ramos hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Members of the PMSC (Santa Catarina Military Police) took the aggressor to the police station to register the incident. On the spot, the woman confirmed that the crime was motivated by the fact that a colleague at the shelter talked too much.
See the Mayor’s announcement on this matter:
The Secretariat of Social Assistance of Florianopolis regrets that on the morning of this Sunday, the 3rd, there was an attempted murder of a 62-year-old woman in a nursing home in Passarela da Cidadanha. The victim was immediately given first aid on site by the nurse on duty and the fire brigade rushed him to Governor Celso Ramos Hospital.
The 72-year-old mistress of the house became the aggressor who caused bodily harm with cold steel. The woman was taken by the military police to the police station for clarification.
In addition, the aggressor told the technical team of Passarela da Cidadanya that she attacked her roommate because the elderly woman talked too much and was uncomfortable.
The Secretariat says it will convene local teams to discuss and develop new security strategies to ensure that such actions do not happen again.
