Metallurg did not have a license
According to the mayor of Cabreuva, the Tex – Tarugos para Extrusão Ltda iron and steel works did not have an activity license issued by the municipality, nor did it have an AVCB (Auto de Inspectorate of Fire Department) certifying that the building was safe.
An aluminum smelter was denied an operating license due to failure to comply with CETESB (Environmental Company of the State of Sao Paulo) requirements during the environmental licensing process.
In August of this year, the company was fined two fines for improper operation and expansion. Mangini says the steel company sometimes asked for a temporary license, but was turned down precisely because it didn’t have an AVCB license.
