The Santa Catarina Civil Police, through the 2nd Anti-Corruption Police Station DEIC, executed eight search and arrest warrants on Tuesday morning (29) in Armazem, Crisium, Jaguarun and Tubarau in the south.
The purpose of Operation Apate is to investigate the use of false documents to allow companies to bid for government tenders for street lighting.
As indicated, in order to comply with certain notification requirements, the surveyed companies obtained professional certificates allowing them to provide services.
In pursuance of the court order, electronic devices and documents were seized and will be sent for examination.
The civilian police noted that, despite the investigation related to street lighting, it has nothing to do with the recently launched Operation Dark Shark.
More than 20 civilian police officers from Cecor (State Anti-Corruption Coordination), DIC (Criminal Investigation Division) and DPCAMI (Children, Adolescents, Women and Elderly Protection Police Station) from Tubaran, DPCo from Capivari de Lou and Warehouse D.P.Co.
The police investigation will be completed within the statutory deadline and handed over to the judiciary.
