The PCSC (Santa Catarina Civil Police) has arrested a man suspected of killing 62-year-old retired police officer Jacob Vieira da Silva. The body was found inside a cistern in the city of Cidade Oeste in the Federal District.
Mateos da Silva do Nascimento was arrested on Tuesday (aged 22) in Palos during a joint operation by the DF and SC civilian police.
He had an outstanding arrest warrant and was considered a fugitive. According to the PCCC, in addition to investigating the crime in DF, the pre-trial detention center also carried out the detention of a man at the scene of a crime for crimes related to the possession and illegal possession of firearms and restricted-use ammunition. .
Matheus was found with two firearms, as well as money and more than 500 rounds of ammunition.
Another suspect has already been arrested.
He is the second person arrested by the police during the investigation into the death of the prime minister. He was the victim’s stepson and was arrested on 26 July.

The retired police officer went missing on July 10. Nine days later, police found Jacob’s body in a cistern in Western City. The farm where the body was found belongs to a person close to the victim.
A forensic medical examination confirmed that the cause of death was head trauma and suffocation. Firefighters recovered the body from a 20-meter-deep tank.
