The parked car aroused the suspicions of the prime minister (military police), and the case turned out so that the robbery was still going on early that Friday morning (25). It all started in Cabezudas, Itajai, on the north coast of Santa Catarina, but ended only in the center.

Police were making their way around the area when they found a car parked in Bico do Papagayo with its headlights off but engine running. As the car approached, the driver attempted to quickly drive onto the sidewalk, hitting the bumper.

For this reason, the Prime Minister began to follow the car, giving stop signs, which he did not obey. A few minutes later, already in the center of Itajaia, a car passenger jumped out of a moving car, and another team of the Prime Minister approached him.

Even after that, the car continued to run, accompanied by the first garrison. A few minutes later the car stopped and the driver tried to run away after being caught nearby. He also turned to another man.

Victim held hostage in car theft

A passenger who jumped out of the car will become a victim of a robbery. He said he stopped the car to talk on the phone, but two men approached him and asked him to borrow a lighter. When opening the car door, the victim was hit in the face. One of the men pulled out a knife and wanted to put it to the car owner’s neck.

The couple got into the car and threatened the victim, who even offered the perpetrators money in exchange for freedom, which the duo denied.

According to police, the men stated “that they were going to take him to a ‘place’ and that other people were waiting for them.”

Soon after, the police showed up and the perpetrators laid the victim on the ground in the car, reportedly stepped on his head and threatened the man with a knife if he screamed. The victim said he jumped into the car at the first opportunity because “he was scared and afraid to spend more time with men,” according to the prime minister’s report.

The duo, a 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old man suspected of the crime, were arrested and taken to the police station.
