Operation Sodalitas Finis arrested 70 of 76 people suspected of being part of what is considered one of the largest criminal gangs in Santa Catarina, the MPSC (Ministry of State of Santa Catarina) said. The action took place on Tuesday (22) in 20 cities of the state.
In addition to 76 arrest warrants, 101 search and arrest warrants were issued. Six people are on the run. The criminal organization is being investigated for drug trafficking, murder and robbery.

Sodalitas Finis took place in 22 cities: 20 in Santa Catarina and two in Rio Grande do Sul. The warrants were issued by the Hasim County Judiciary at the request of the MPSC.

Interrogations at Sodalitas Finis should take 30 days
According to the MPSC, the Sodalitas Finis operation has been under investigation for months and is being carried out in secrecy. 70 people arrested on Tuesday received detention on Wednesday (23).
The police have 30 days to complete the interrogations, and then the Haxim 2nd Prosecutor’s Office will decide whether to file a complaint with the judiciary.
According to the State Committee for National Security, during the investigation, in addition to the identified crimes such as theft, murder, kidnapping, imprisonment and arson, 102 kilograms of drugs, a pistol and a machine gun were also seized.
During the arrests and seizures, 470 members of the civil, military, criminal and federal traffic police, the military police aviation battalion (BAPM) in Lages and the aeropolitical border guard SAERFron in Chapeco were mobilized. The Science Police and the Chapeco Municipal Guard also provide support for the operation.
