The state government is taking a number of steps to accelerate work at Santa Catarina’s regional airports to make the infrastructure viable for the economy, tourism, and freight traffic.
In just four months of office, the Secretary of Ports, Airports and Railways has already carried out work on eight of the 17 regional airfields administered by the state.
An initial investment of 32.5 million reais has been made at Forquillinha (15.2 million reais), Blumenau (7 million), Cacadores (5.5 million), Tres Barras (1.6 million), Lajes (620,000 reais). ), Sao Joaquim (327 thousand), Dionisio Cerqueira (47 thousand) and Lontras (1.8 million).

Secretary Beto Martins made some shocking revelations. He reported, for example, that the federal government had excluded Cásador and Joasaba airports from the revised National Aviation Plan. The current government is in talks with Azul Linhas Aéreas to include the regional airports in Santa Catarina in the Azul Conecta project, which involves small aircraft, to promote greater regional integration in the States.
