A 40-year-old motorcyclist was detained, transporting 2 kg of cocaine on a motorcycle. The act took place at about 12 noon on Friday (11). He was caught after two attempts to escape in the thicket on the shore of BR-158 near the municipality of Maravilla, in the western part of Santa Catarina.
According to information from the prime minister (military police), the first attempt to approach was made in the municipality of Candido Rondon in the state of Parana. However, the motorcyclist managed to avoid the blockade.
After exchanging information with the Paraná police, the premier’s garrisons from Maravilla and Cunha Pora and the PRF (Federal Highway Police) tried to approach the motorcyclist in a new way near the PRF post in Maravilla.
However, he again did not heed the order to stop and fled. The police began pursuit in the direction of Kunya Pora. However, along the way, the suspect came across a new checkpoint.
Motorcyclist arrested after siege
The motorcyclist was trying to get away through the thickets on the side of the highway. He fell, abandoned the motorcycle and continued his attempt to escape on foot, deepening into the forest.
The police surrounded and detained the motorcyclist. Two cocaine tablets were attached to his body with an elastic strap. The man was arrested and taken to the civilian police station in Maravilla. The motorcycle was arrested.
According to the police, the destination of the drugs will be a city in Rio Grande do Sul, and the suspect will receive 5,000 reais for transportation. The police, with the support of Saer/Frohn, approached the motorcyclist and arrested him.
