The people involved in the attack on STF (Federal Supreme Court) Minister Alexander de Moraes at the airport in Rome, Italy have been identified by the PF (Federal Police).
The case is under investigation and names have not been officially released. According to media reports, Moraes was harassed in the Italian capital and his son was punched in the face. Information provided by Agência Brasil and R7.
Also on Saturday (15), when the case was made public, the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) asked the federal police for information about the attacks. In a note released this Sunday (16), PGR said it would “take appropriate action regarding this case.”
Crimes covered by Brazilian law
According to the Criminal Code, crimes committed by Brazilians abroad are subject to Brazilian law, and those involved in them must be held accountable for aggression, threats, harm and slander.
Brazilian law punishes threats (Article 147), defamation (Article 139), harm (Article 140), and sanctions for anyone who attacks a public official in connection with the performance of his functions (Article 331). The last paragraph provides for capital punishment: up to two years in prison or a fine.
Moraes was in Italy with his family for a lecture at the University of Siena at the International Legal Forum. The attackers cursed the chairman of the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) and called him a communist. The minister is the rapporteur for the investigation into the January 8 attacks.

In November 2022, Minister Alexandre de Moraes was also harassed when he was in New York (USA) to participate in a debate on freedom, democracy and the Brazilian economy in 2023. He was cursed when he was in a restaurant in the city.
