The municipality of Itapoa on the north coast of Santa Catarina introduced this Wednesday (5) a new video surveillance system. The initiative comes from the prime minister (military police) and is sponsored by municipal and judicial companies.
According to the creator of the project, Captain Richardson Bortolini Lima, in the first stage, the system will have 20 cameras installed at strategic points in the city. “The project will have 50 cameras by the end of the year,” explains Lima.
The system is equipped with modern cameras and an artificial intelligence system that can monitor risky situations. One of the companies sponsoring the project is Porto Itapoá.
However, according to Captain Lima, private cameras compatible with the system could be included in the monitoring network. “In order to turn on private security cameras, it will be necessary to request a connection to the Prime Minister, who will send a technician for this purpose. We have over 100 private cameras that are compatible and can be integrated,” says Richardson.
The system is based on Israeli technology and is capable of capturing images and interpreting abnormal situations. This sends a real-time alert to the police.
