Applications that undress women and dangers
In the midst of online nudity cases, the app that made a splash: Deep Nude. He knows how to recreate the intimate parts of the female body in photographs and thus expose false nudity.
The civil police did not report any connection between the case of the Anchieta teenager and the statement, but it is worth warning about such cases.
The MotherBoard website has been researching this tool since its launch in 2019. At the time, the developer of the unnamed tool decided to stop selling it on the grounds that “the world was not ready for this kind of technology.”
However, after its removal, the Spanish newspaper El País pointed out that 96 other similar apps have since appeared promising “convincing nudity”.
Also, the app only works “convincingly” when used on photos of women. If a user uploads a photo of a man, the app will automatically recreate a woman’s breasts and vulva, thus exposing the scam.
Thus, the issue revolves around the creation of images without prior consent, the leakage of false photographs, and the spread of pornographic content.
Deep Nude and criminal activities
According to Patricia Zimmermann, coordinator of the DPCAMI (Delegation for the Protection of Children, Adolescents, Women and the Elderly), Santa Catarina has not yet recorded a single case of fake image editing.
Under the Criminal Code, anyone who collects photographs, video, audio or any other recordings for the purpose of displaying nudity or sexual intercourse can be sentenced to six months to one year in prison, in addition to a travel ticket.
In Brazil, Article 1 of the María da Peña Law classifies crimes as domestic and family violence, in addition to psychological violence, for violating women’s privacy. It is important that victims report to police stations that specialize in digital crimes or incidents against women.
