The Coast Guard confirmed at a press conference this Thursday afternoon (22) that the wreckage found in the Titanic search area is actually an underwater Titan that has been missing since last Sunday (18). The agency said there could have been an “instantaneous explosion” of the vessel, resulting in the deaths of five crew members on board. Information taken from R7.
“On behalf of the US Coast Guard and the entire Joint Command, I extend my deepest condolences to the families,” said Rear Admiral John Mauger. “I can only imagine what it was like for them,” he adds.
Rear Admiral John Mauger says “there doesn’t seem to be any connection” between the underwater noises found in the search and rescue operation and the location on the seafloor.
