After the dismissal of more than 170 officers throughout Brazil for meeting the established period of permanent tenure in command positions in Santa Catarina, the new commanders of barracks and military units for 2024-2025 are already known.

According to Informex document No. 18, signed by the commander of the Brazilian army, General Tomás Miguel Mine Ribeiro Paiva, on May 9, 2023, in Santa Catarina, seven military personnel were assigned to replace the rehabilitated professionals.

In the Military Command Southern area, of which Santa Catarina is a Member State, the following military personnel were appointed to command positions for the biennium 2024-2025:

  • Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Fernando Cadorno Cossa, who takes command of the 23rd Infantry Battalion in Blumenau;
  • Lieutenant Colonel Andre Luis do Nascimento Cabral, who takes command of the 62nd Infantry Battalion in Joinville;
  • Lieutenant Colonel Luis Enrique Vigi Teixeira, who takes command of the 63rd Infantry Battalion in Florianopolis;
  • Major Diego da Silva Agostini, who takes over the 5th BE Cmb Bld (armored engineer battalion) in Porto Uniao;
  • Lieutenant Colonel Luciano Américo Fonseca de Sousa, who takes over the 28th Artillery Group of the Crisium campaign;
  • Lieutenant Colonel Hudson Machado Moreira who takes over the 1st BFv (1st Railway Battalion) in Lagesh;
  • Lieutenant Colonel Ana Paula Vila Nova Camara Salim Saker, who led the HGU (Garnish Hospital) in Florianopolis.

Dismissal is an administrative process, according to the army.
