An IRS intern is suspected of stealing cell phones from the agency and selling them in Dionisio Cerqueira, far west of Santa Catarina. The operation carried out this Thursday morning (15) by the Federal Police drew attention to the courage of the suspects.
The purpose of the operation called Fidúcia is to eliminate the criminal scheme of theft and theft of electronic devices from the Federal Tax Service of Dionisio Cerqueira.
This Thursday morning, two search and seizure warrants were executed in the towns of Dionisiou Cerqueira and Barracao in Paraná.
One of the warrants was given to an intern at the Federal Tax Service. According to the delegate in charge of the operation, he is accused of stealing the seized devices and selling them below the market price.
Another defendant is suspected of buying the employee’s equipment. The investigation points to evidence that the store owner purchased electronics from a third-party IRS service provider and sold them to customers as if they were of legitimate origin.
The crimes under investigation are receiving and embezzlement, and the punishment can be up to 12 years in prison.
