This Saturday morning (3) in Joinville, north of Santa Catarina, a man was arrested for causing a panic and firing a firearm on a public road in the Aventureiro area.
The 43-year-old suspect was under the influence of drugs, according to Arrest Sergeant Nelson Oliveira y Silva, commander of the PM Tactical Patrol (Military Police) garrison.
Early this Saturday morning, the man was supposed to go to his ex-wife’s house and shoot at the residence. After that, he allegedly went to a wholesaler in the Aventureiro area, where he threatened the locals.
According to Sgt. Nelson, before he was found and arrested, this man also had to enter the store on Rue Blumenau, where he placed a gun on the counter and frightened those in the establishment.
The registration period for the revolver of the suspect arrested in Joinville has expired.
After conducting a search for the suspect, the Prime Minister’s Tactical Patrol found the man at his home in the Aventureiro district and arrested him around 10:30. 75 rounds of ammunition and a loaded revolver of 380 caliber were confiscated from him.
However, according to Sergeant PM, the man only had a pistol, and the registration period for the revolver had expired. The suspect is to be charged with threatening, firing a firearm in public, and illegally carrying a weapon.
