The Santa Catarina Civil Police are keeping their investigation into the disappearance of Raissa Tremea Maestri, 16, a Chapeco/South Carolina resident, under wraps. The girl has been missing since May 21. There is no information about where she could have gone. Days earlier, the girl lived with her father, Wilson Maestri, 55.

This week, the teenager’s name was added to the SOS list of missing persons of the Santa Catarina military police, which also reserved details of the investigation to be released.

The teenager’s mother, Ivete Maestri, told the report that she still has no official information about the police investigation into her daughter’s disappearance: “It’s disappointing that there is no news. I, more than anyone else, want to find my daughter, ”the woman said.

The girl was last seen on May 21 (Sunday) when she left her friend in the Efapi area around 7:40 am and did not return to her home where she lived. Raisa was wearing jeans, black sneakers with pink stripes and a red sweatshirt, as well as a black backpack with details of the same color.

“She was at the house of a friend of mine who worked with us for a long time. She said she was going to visit a friend downtown and in the afternoon she would go to my house. She left on foot and alone,” says the mother, who says she does not know who this friend is, since the daughter lived with her father.

The mother told the Civil Police that her daughter had been going through a difficult time since her father passed away and that she had never gone missing before and had no addictions.

Police investigate cause of father’s death

The girl’s father, Wilson Maestri, was found dead in the apartment where he lived in Chapeco on the night of May 7 (Sunday). There is no information on a possible connection between his death and the disappearance of his daughter. Details are being investigated by the Civil Police.

He had two cuts on his head, and the SVO (Death Verification Service) certified the cause of death as a victim of a myocardial infarction. The body was then transferred to a funeral home. The information was collected in a report no data+.

The next day he was buried in the municipal cemetery of Planalto Alegre, about 30 kilometers from Chapeco. Within a week, a member of the man’s family filed a complaint with the civilian police.

On the afternoon of last Sunday (28), 21 days after the death, the Chapeco Scientific Police exhumed the body, which had been taken for forensic examination, for example, to collect samples for toxicological analysis.

Sources say that there is a suspicion of poisoning of the victim, but confirmation of the cause of death still depends on the results of the tests.
