The woman in labor was taken by civilian police from Brusca to the hospital in Vale do Itajaí in a car. The case took place earlier this Thursday evening (1st) as agents passed through the scene.

DIC (Criminal Investigation) agents were returning from the Vale do Itajaí penitentiary complex when they received a call from a man in a car. He sought help as his wife was giving birth in the passenger seat.

The couple was taken to the maternity ward, located between the border of Itajaí and Balneario Camboriu, where a team of doctors was already waiting to provide assistance.

The police said that the baby’s father was very grateful, because without help and due to the flow of vehicles that filled the streets, they did not have time to get to the hospital in time.
