The Military Police of Balneario Picarras, north coast of Santa Catarina, has opened pre-registration for retired military police and firefighters who want to work for the Ctisp (Provisional Corps of Inactive Public Security). These pensioners can be hired to provide security for 14 school units in the municipality, including schools and kindergartens.
On April 20, Governor Jorginho Mello (Poland) authorized legislation establishing the Safe School Program, bringing together public safety and municipal authorities using Ctisps to help and protect the school environment.
Prime Minister Balneario Pizarras is asking inactive police officers interested in participating in the program in the city to personally look for the municipal headquarters to pre-register. Those who work in this activity will receive remuneration in accordance with the law.
Security beefed up after kindergarten attack
The law, sanctioned by Governor Jorginho Mello, came into force 19 days after an attack on a kindergarten in Blumenau left four children dead and five injured. The attack took place on 5 April.
