A three-vehicle crash involving a BR-116 at Monte Castelo, on the northern plateau of Santa Catarina, killed mother and son earlier Sunday evening (2 p.m.). 26-year-old Bruna Lisboa and her 8-year-old son Davy Lisboa were killed in the accident.
Davi was rescued and taken to Monte Castelo Hospital, but he was unable to resist his injuries. According to the fire department, there was a head-on collision at 68 km BR-116.
The victims were in a Volkswagen Parati model car. The rest of the participants, who did not receive serious injuries, were in Fiat Punto and Peugeot 208 cars. What caused the accident is still unknown.
Kelvis Rodrigo, Bruna’s husband, was driving the car at the time of the crash and was rescued at the scene. There is still no information about the state of his health.
On social media, Bruna’s friends and family mourned the accident. “Go in peace, friend. May God enlighten the family and give them much peace at this time,” reads one of the publications.
