The emergency delivery mobilized the military fire department, air operations battalion (BOA) and Samu this Sunday afternoon (23) in Blumenau to help a pregnant woman who went into cardiac arrest.
The duty group of Archangel-03 in Blumenau was called by Samu and headed to the Testo Salto area. According to rescuers, the woman had a cardiac arrest for about 30 minutes. Samu’s team attempted CPR, but the patient showed no sign of a pulse.
To increase the chances for the life of a pregnant woman and child, the corporation’s doctor decided on an emergency delivery. After the procedure, it was observed that the newborn was also in cardiac arrest, requiring CPR maneuvers. The fire brigade managed to resuscitate the child, whose condition was stabilized and sent to the Santo António hospital. The father accompanied the service and was taken to the hospital. According to the corporation, the child is stable in the intensive care unit.
“In today’s incident, we worked hard and hard: it was a very serious incident, extremely important, very complex, and our synergy was incredible. The feeling of taking the baby into the ZDR and the emotions of feeling the heartbeat of the newborn after each effort are indescribable. Just thank you for always being in training,” said nurse Tatiani Uliano, who was present at the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the patient had an unproblematic pregnancy, but despite the efforts of the teams, she died at the place of care. The military police and the IGP (General Institute of Expertise) were also on site and are investigating the cause of the death of the pregnant woman.
