The MPSC (Ministry of State of Santa Catarina) presented on Tuesday (11) the investigation of wrongdoing and the application of social and educational measures against two teenagers suspected of making threats on social networks about an alleged attack on a school in Rodeo, in Vale do Itajaí.
CyberGaeco (Cyber Crime Investigation Team) supported Azcurra’s civilian police during the investigation, helping to identify the suspects behind profiles with alleged threats to attack a public school in Rodyo, the MP said.
The teenagers were detained a week ago and have since been temporarily hospitalized. In the statement, the young people allegedly confessed to the head of the civil police of Azcurra that they were responsible for creating the pages on the Internet.
On April 5, two days after the start of the investigation, the prosecutor’s office gave a positive conclusion to the preliminary detention of teenagers. On the same day they were discovered and detained by the civilian police.
The Ascurra District Attorney, who also covers the cities of Rodeo and Apiuna, is following up on the case. In the coming days, the judiciary should evaluate the representation of the deputy (the prosecutor’s office) and schedule a hearing to hear those under investigation, and then the witnesses.
The teens’ mobile phones have also been seized and will be investigated by the scientific police. According to the civilian police, there is no evidence of a link between the threats at Rodeo and the April 5 attack on a kindergarten in Blumenau.
Monitoring activities to improve school safety
The Prosecutor’s Office of Ascurra also reports that it has opened a procedure for monitoring the implementation of measures that increase safety in the schools of Comarca. Rodeo City Hall also announced last Saturday (8) that it had installed accordion-style fences at the teens’ school, stepping up action to combat school violence.
