Production assistant Jacirlin dos Reis Santos da Cruz, aged 26, was pregnant when she suffocated on the 7th, Good Friday, in Palosa, Greater Florianopolis. Pregnancy is confirmed by examination and appears in the cadaveric act.

According to civilian police, the main suspect in the murder is the victim’s 30-year-old boyfriend. He lived with Jasirlin in the Aririu area and fled after committing a crime.

Jasirlin was born in Lauro de Freitas, a city in the state of Bahia, located in the Salvador metropolitan region. She came to Palhocha when she was about 18 years old and worked here as a production assistant. According to the victim’s relatives, she has been related to the perpetrator since December 2022. The next month they moved in together.

Crime

The victim was found dead by her sister, Yarlin, who lives on the floor above Jasirlin’s house. On the night of that holiday, they agreed to go together to a beauty salon to cut their children’s hair – Zhasirlin was the mother of a six-year-old child.

Since the delay in responding to messages and three unanswered calls seemed strange to her, Yarlene went downstairs around 9:15 in the morning and went to the victim’s house.

“He [o autor do crime] opened the door and said she was sleeping, ”recalls her sister. The perpetrator instructed his daughter-in-law to take the children to the hairdresser alone.

Zhasirlin says that she broke into the house and found her sister in a room with many wounds on her face. She tried to wake her sister up when she realized she was cold and not breathing. The suspect tried to cover her up with a sheet and fled after her sister-in-law called the military police.

“We were very close. We spent everything together, New Year, Christmas. She was hardworking and always worked to raise her son, ”Yarlin regrets. “He erased her shine,” she says. The two shared a tattoo that said “life today”.

According to the DPCami (Delegation for the Protection of Children, Adolescents, Women and the Elderly) Palhos, the police investigation into the circumstances of the crime should be completed in the coming days.

“Information shows that it will be the partner of the victim,” Komarka stressed.

By the end of February, at least 9 women had been victims of femicide in Santa Catarina, according to the CSSPPO (Superior Board of Public Safety and Official Review) monthly indicators bulletin. Data for March has not yet been released.
