The episode of an armed teenager recorded this Monday (10) on the grounds of the Abel Capella Municipal School in Governador Celso Ramos in Greater Florianopolis has sparked an outcry from parents and mothers who are asking for increased security for educational institutions in the municipality.

Parents’ manifestation will take place this Tuesday (11) on the occasion of the 1st Municipal Forum on Public Safety in Schools. The event took place in the city, coincidentally the day after the young man was detained. Police officers, authorities, managers and teachers are discussing safety in schools.

Garcia’s son was getting off the bus when he noticed military police vehicles on the facade of a school located in the Canto dos Ganchos area. After receiving an anonymous tip, they caught a 13-year-old boy with a gun. The weapon was in the backpack.

According to the 24th BPM (military police battalion), a firearm and a student accompanied by his mother were confiscated from the detainee. The civil police are investigating the circumstances of the crime.
