Military firefighters, part of the BREC (Collapsed Structures Search and Rescue Coordination) CBMSC (Santa Catarina Military Fire Department), made a technical tour of the mine 101 coal mining site in Isara. The visit took place last week in the coal region, south of Santa Catarina.
The firefighters got acquainted with the system of coal mining through an underground mine with a manhole, as well as with the preventive systems used inside the mine, including the underground mining system.
“It is very important to know the prevention systems that are currently in use in the activity and to understand the evolution of the underground mining system,” said CBMSC BREC Area Instructor Major BM Felipe Jelein.
In addition, a technical assessment and planning of activities to be completed during the year was carried out, as well as guidance on standard operating procedures for incidents in which the Corporation was involved in the BREC area was proposed.
“Our service areas are very diverse, it is important that the members of the BREC Coordination are aware of all the activities and activities in which we can be involved,” explained the President of the BREC Coordination, Major BM Renan Silverio da Rosa Fernandez.
