A 62-year-old man was shot dead at the exit of the Prefeito João Schwambach exhibition park this Saturday afternoon (8) in Imbuia, in Alto Vale do Itajaí. This fact attracted the attention of the residents of the city, and around 16:30 the military police were called to the scene.

According to a PM (military police) report, not far from the park where the Femive (Green Corn State Party) is taking place, a man walking along the SC-281 highway found a red VW Fox car lying in a ditch. Inside the car was a wounded man with gunshot marks on his back.

When law enforcement officers arrived, the man was already dead, and the area around the car was cordoned off. Local residents said that before the accident they heard explosions that looked like gunshots.

CCTV footage captures the moment the victim’s car and the Fiat Toro truck drive out of the park side by side, and shots are fired in the direction of the Fox car. Using the video, it was possible to determine the license plate of the car used by the suspect, as well as to locate the car that had plates from Rio Grande do Sul.

According to the military police, the car was used by a gypsy who was in the park with a group of people, which was also confirmed by the civilian police. When the police arrived, the group was leaving the scene in a hurry and were not approached.

Seven cases of 40-gauge ammunition were found in the park and were seized. According to the Prime Minister, after committing the crime, the suspect stopped the truck at a gas station and asked how to get to the city of Sao Joaquim.

On Saturday evening (8), the police from São Joaquim found the truck and took the suspect to the city police station. When arrested, he was in possession of a 40-caliber pistol, which, according to police, may be the weapon used in the crime.

The civil police are investigating

The deceased man, who was identified as Orly Valdomiro da Silva, must have been 62 years old and was an employee of a waste management company in the city of Imbuia, as determined no data+ together with the civil police of Rio do Sul, who are investigating the case.

According to military police witnesses, the victim had to go to the park and have a disagreement with the suspect after an argument over cleaning the site. This version, however, has not yet been confirmed by the civilian police.

Deputy Diones Pavoni de Freitas, who is following the case, details how the person involved in the case was arrested. He was arrested for illegal possession of a weapon and remains in prison after a request for temporary arrest made by the civilian police and accepted by a deputy (Ministry of State).

“At around 11:00 pm, the suspect was arrested by the military police in the city of Sao Joaquim, he was in possession of a firearm allegedly used in the crime. When he was taken to that city’s police station, he was arrested at the scene of the crime for illegally carrying a firearm, as there were not enough elements at the time to link him to the murder committed in Imbuya. Thus, in order to prevent his release, the delegate on duty in Rio do Sul still represented in the early hours of the morning the provisional arrest of a suspect who had received a favorable opinion from the public prosecution. Service,” said the delegate.

Provisional arrest was ordered for an initial period of 30 days. The suspect must be arrested while the investigation is ongoing.

The victim was buried in Imbuia.

According to the Funerária Santa Cruz, Orly Valdomiro da Silva was wrapped up in the funeral chapel of Santa Cruz on Sunday morning (9) in Imbuia. The funeral of the 62-year-old man took place at 16:00 at the Catholic cemetery of Imbuia.
