On Thursday (6) in Crisium, south of Santa Catarina, an 8-year-old boy died after being hit by a car. The accident happened at about 9 pm on Avenida of the Assembly of God, in the Manaus area. The incident is being investigated by civilian police.
According to the military police, the driver of the car that hit the victim fled the scene without providing assistance. The details of the car were not disclosed so as not to interfere with the investigation. Security cameras at the scene should help with identification, police said.
The child was saved by Samu (mobile emergency service), but the team found the death on the spot. The body was in the care of the Science Police. The victim was identified as Pedro Enrique Oliveira Maximiano.
In a note, the public school of Professor Lily Coelho, where the boy studied, regrets what happened. The boy will be locked up this Friday (7), around midnight, in the Boa Vista area. The family is a resident of the Progresso area.
