The Civil Police of Brusca in the Itajaí Valley are investigating the causes and circumstances of the mysterious death of young Monalisa Araujo dos Santos, aged 28, found burnt on Wednesday (aged 22) in a secluded area in the Bateas area. So far, no hypothesis has been ruled out.
According to police chief Alex Bonfim Reis, who is following the case, there is still no legal basis or evidence that Monalisa was a victim of femicide. Additional information, including those relating to the testimony of people close to the victim, is confidential so as not to harm the investigation.
“It is important to emphasize that several lines of investigation are under analysis and no hypothesis has been rejected. The civilian police continue to carry out checks and collect materials for a full clarification of the facts,” the delegate reflects.

It was around 17:30 on Wednesday (22) when the remains of a charred body were discovered by the inhabitants of Brusk on the banks of Edgar von Büttner Street in the Bateas district. A few hours after the investigative work, the body was identified as the Mona Lisa. The Civil Police said that the identification was carried out on the basis of documents found on her, handed over to the Scientific Police for analysis, which resulted in the identification of the woman.
