After 17 years of negotiations, the Praia de Laranheiras in Balneario Camboriu, on the north coast of Santa Catarina, will be re-urbanised. Works will begin to come out of paper in May, according to the forecast of the mayor’s office.
Negotiations have been long and work will only begin thanks to an agreement reached in the MPF (Federal Attorney’s Office) between City Hall and waterfront property owners allowing work on the site.
The city’s environment minister, Maria Eloise Lenzi, explains that this agreement allowed the buildings to be set back to make room for the construction of a footpath from end to end of the beach, in addition to the rest landing.
The distance must be 15 meters. Structures on this site will be demolished to make way for a footbridge and recreation. The retail space should also receive a new format, as the owners of the lot decided.
