A harvester worth more than 100,000 reais broke down and burned out in a fire in the Ribeirão da Herva community in the interior of Tayo, in Alto Vale do Itajaí. Firefighters with difficulty reached the agricultural vehicle, which was located right in the middle of the plantation.
By the time a rescue vehicle arrived at the scene, the John Deere harvester was already on fire, firefighters said. The work was also aimed at preventing the flames from spreading to other equipment, to the cutting platform that was nearby and also damaged.
A foam nozzle was used to control the flames and the flames were controlled with 10 liters of LGE (foaming liquid).
In addition to a special liquid, 1,500 liters of water were used to extinguish the flames. However, rescuers had difficulty extracting the tanker after the fire.
I had to use two tractors belonging to residents of nearby areas to tow the fire truck to the main road of the village. The cause of the fire will be investigated.
