According to R7, Antonio Cano was CFO and Cayo Lucio was a designer at Mirage Group Brasil. The company said in a note that the duo were on a private trip with their friend Wellington Palhares.

The helicopter crashed at 2:35 pm in an abandoned factory on Rua Padre Luís Alves de Siqueira, on the corner of Rua James Holland. According to the incident report, the plane was rented and crashed into a tree.

Fire chief Yuri Moraes told Record TV that on the way back to the airport, the pilot did not report a breakdown, only that he was close to landing.

Still registered by ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency), the helicopter is a Robinson R44 II model with a PR-PGC prefix, designed for one pilot and three passengers.

FAB (Brazilian Air Force) said investigators from the Fourth Regional Air Accident Investigation and Prevention Service were called to check the crash site.
