The Municipal Basic School of Prof. Zulma Sousa da Silva, which has over 700 primary and secondary school students, will undergo structural reforms. Located in the Velha Central area, the building will have a new indoor court with a dressing room.

Everything was decided after the signing of the work order, a document signed last Friday (3/3), by Blumenau Mayor Mario Hildebrandt, Deputy Mayor Maria Regina de Sousa Soar and the Municipal Secretary of Education. , Alexander Matthias.

In addition to this construction site, five more service orders for work in educational institutions have been shot in recent days.

The work will also include laying internal paving in the castle floor and repairing the existing courtyard. The investment is 2.3 million reais from the municipality’s own resources. The area obtained through the construction of the new court is 812.76 m², and the area of ​​the renovated court is 640 m².

Minister of Education Alexander Matias believes that this school plays a very important role in the local community, serving a significant number of students. “The quality of education in our municipality needs to be constantly improved, the construction of a new indoor court with changing rooms will improve the quality of education for our children,” he says.

The company responsible for the work is Empreiteira KJ. After receiving a service order, the company has five days to start work and 300 days to complete work. The educational institution is located at Rua Florânia, n°464, in the Velha Central area and serves 700 students from grades 1 to 9.

“Sulma School has a history in the Velha area and plays an important role in strengthening education in this community and serving a large number of students in this region. More than 2 million reais have been invested in improving the school,” Matias emphasizes.

The school was opened on June 19, 1979 and served students from grades 1 to 4 as Escola Reunida. It was not until October 11, 1983 that it began serving students in grades 6 to 9, moving from Escola Reunida to Escola Básica.

The school currently serves 12 morning and 12 afternoon classes with 700 students.

The institution has 36 teachers, three pedagogical coordinators, a director, an assistant director, a secretary, two assistants in the secretariat and employees who take care of school meals, cleaning and maintaining the school.
