This Sunday morning (19) a 65-year-old man suffered burns to his body when a fire broke out in his house. The case was registered at around 8 am on Rui Barbosa Street in the Dona Clara area of Timbo.
The military fire brigade was called to respond to a fire in a residential building with a burn victim. On the spot, the militants found an elderly man near the house, lying with 1st and 2nd degree burns all over his body, as well as a small cut on his face and unequal pupils.
The victim reported severe pain but was conscious, oriented and stable, firefighters said. The team monitored the elderly man’s body temperature and monitored his vital signs until the arrival of the SAMU base support team, who took him to the hospital.
Firefighters said the fire started in several kitchens near the bar and that the fire started in a kitchen owned by the victim.
The elderly man reported that he was sleeping alone when he was caught off guard by the fire. Upon the arrival of the relief train, the residential building was partially on fire and smoke was rising, the fire was controlled by the garrison, who used 500 liters of water to fight and eliminate the consequences.
