The National Police arrested an 18-year-old mother and her 21-year-old partner in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on charges of abusing their daughter, a 19-month-old baby who was found to have numerous bumps and bruises on her face. and a body in a kindergarten she attended with injuries that caused her to be hospitalized.

These alleged perpetrators of child abuse, he with two police reports for similar acts, were prosecuted and the maternal grandmother took over the care of the little girl as her mother was temporarily deprived of her custody and guardianship, as reported on Monday in a statement by the Supreme Headquarters of the Canary Islands.

After a week of not attending kindergarten, the minor arrived one morning with obvious signs of negligence, such as lack of personal hygiene, which had happened before, to which were added several bumps and bruises on her face and neck. .

For this reason, the kindergarten staff notified the Family and Women’s Affairs Unit (UFAM) of the National Police, which decided to hospitalize the girl for a medical examination.

After receiving relevant medical reports confirming the ill-treatment of the girl, who was released from the hospital a few days later, agents of this unit investigated the minor’s family cell, identifying “without any doubt” her mother and her current partner. responsible for the beatings that the little girl received.
