The national police dismantled a clandestine cocaine laboratory in a house in Benijofar (Alicante) and arrested a man for drug trafficking. The court ruled that he should be sent to prison.

More than 100 grams of cocaine, 270 euros in cash, precision scales, forms for labeling packages and mechanical presses for packaging and individualizing substances were seized from the house, the security forces and authorities said in a statement.

Agents attached to the anti-narcotics team of the Elche (Alicante) police station launched an anti-drug investigation during which they went to a building located in Benijofar, suspecting that inside it they could devote themselves to the development of drugs .

After various observations were made behind the house, the agents confirmed that no one had lived in it. However, the man visited for a week, staying there for several hours and then moving to the town of Gandia, where investigators determined he usually lived.

Thus, the police identified the suspect and suspected that there could be an underground laboratory in the house, where the person under investigation produced cocaine for subsequent distribution.

For all this, they set off a device to get him arrested. Finally, the suspect was found aboard his car in a service area in the city of Santomera (Murcia).

After apprehending the suspect, the agents searched the travel agency, which had a sophisticated system in a hidden compartment that stored the chemical products it allegedly used to manufacture cocaine in the property under investigation.

Ten bottles containing ethyl acetate, boric acid and other chemical products, as well as a large amount of percussion drugs, were inserted into said hidden compartment.

Similarly, the agents searched an address located in the city of Benijofar, where they discovered in one of the rooms an underground laboratory in which the arrested person produced the drug.

Among the items seized were more than 100 grams of cocaine, 270 euros in cash, precision scales, packaging marking forms and mechanical presses for packing and individualizing substances.

The detainee, aged 47, a Spanish citizen, was placed at the disposal of the Guardia de Elche Acting Court of Inquiry and a decision was made to imprison him.
