During a round this Thursday afternoon (09) on the BR-470 in Gaspare, federal traffic police officers saw a man lying on the ground on his shoulder, with a bicycle lying next to him, who appeared to be in cardiac and respiratory arrest.
Although he was no longer showing vital signs, the agents immediately began CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) procedures. This technique is taught in the APH (Prehospital Care) discipline, which is part of the PRF (Road Police Federal) training course.
Gaspar’s firefighters and the SAMU team were called and quickly arrived on the scene. The procedure continued for half an hour until vital signs recovered and stabilized. A 48-year-old man living in the Margem-Eskerda area of Gaspar was taken to the Santa Isabel Hospital in Blumenau and is currently in stable health.
According to doctors, the first minutes of help provided by the PRF team were essential for the man’s survival.
