A 30-year-old man was arrested by the premier (military police) for an attempted robbery in Casadora, in the Midwest of Santa Catarina. The case was reported late Tuesday evening (7). The suspect is accused of beating the owner of a clothing store during a robbery.
According to the Civil Police, CCTV footage shows how, at the moment the man appeared at the scene, “he was armed with a knife and punched the victim in order to steal money from the cash register and clothes.”
The suspect fled after the crime, according to police. The search continued until an off-duty military police officer found the man in Central Park, the agent called for backup, and the man was approached and detained by the Prime Minister’s garrison.
According to the police report, he would have confessed to the crime, and they also found about 116 reais in cash, which he stole from the store. He was taken to the police station, where he remains at the disposal of the civilian police.
The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries and remained in the hospital until the end of the procedures.
